I _do_ have a DVD-RW in the ultrabay (and for some reason the ibm_acpi doesn't seem to want to let me eject the drive). I'm wondering if it has something to do with the cdrom device being built into the kernel instead of being built as a module. Whenever I try to eject the drive, or run "echo eject > /proc/acpi/ibm/bay" the system goes into an infinite loop of "hdc" IDE errors and hangs forever. But that's a different problem (I think) than the random hangs I get. I'm using kernel-2.6.11-1.14_FC3. I don't recall if I had them with kernel-2.6.10-1.770_FC3 or not, as it's been a long while since I used that version. -derek -- Derek Atkins, SB '93 MIT EE, SM '95 MIT Media Laboratory Member, MIT Student Information Processing Board (SIPB) URL: http://web.mit.edu/warlord/ PP-ASEL-IA N1NWH warlord at MIT.EDU PGP key available
