CVS question

I've been trying to use CVS to identify files that were checked in on a
specific day and check the logs.
cvs log -d<date>
Should give that to me, but it tends to give me a list of files that were
checked in when I checked in the initial branch.
I've also tried to identify them by revision numbers.

(I have a list of the specific files I want, I just don't want to have to
type the very long paths.
