Hola: I've been providing informal, unpaid support for my mother-in-law, who is an accountant using Peachtree software on top of Windoze ExPee. I know very little about this, but wanted to ideally swap out the "backend" and let her keep Peachtree as a "frontend". My minimal exploration has suggested Gnucash only allows Quicken imports and doesn't import from Peachtree. Ideally, from the perspective of me supporting her, she would use a "real" database like PostgreSQL or MySQL as the backend and she could keep on using Peachtree as a frontend. I would then be able to setup cron, mysqldump, bzip2, mkisofs, etc. to provide online, reliable backups and recovery. Sorry for my ignorance on this topic. Anybody care to enlighten me about whether a conversion is possible? -- David Backeberg (dave at math.mit.edu)
