OpenOffice 2.0.1 vs MS Office

Yes. And then I tried to open the file in Office-for-mac, and found the
same compatibility issue. (It was a macro-built form or something like
that -- Really cruddy stuff.)

In other words, OpenOffice is no worse than any of the other non-Windows
versions of office in my experience. It has opened some pretty hairy
stuff with no problems, but it may suffer fate at people who
unintentionally create built in forms in the document (by copy pasting
from a website, in this case). 

I can't imagine that a non-business user running into things like that,
nor even most business users.
