I've got a MythTV box running on a PII 500MHz (I think, it could be a bit slower even), with 128MB RAM. It has a Hauppauge PVR350, so it does encoding and decoding in hardware. The interface is a big sluggish sometimes, but recording/playback cause no problems. The box is both MythTV backend and frontend.
