Just a few more comments. The benefits of running enterprise level server software is that you get some vendor support and a stable platform. (As previous mentioned, Fedora, OpenSuSE, SuSE Linux - retail) are generally cutting edge and things might not work after an up2date or YOU session. Additionally, in the case of IBM and HP, both fully support Linux on those listed servers. With Fedora, OpenSuSE, SuSE Linux - retail, Debian, CentOS, you do not get support from any vendor. Like any business decision you need to weigh the consequences.
