The election results for the 2006-2008 Board of Directors are now available at http://www.usenix.org/about/elections06results.html We welcome Remy Evard (Argonne National Laboratory), Niels Provos (Google), and Margo Seltzer (Harvard University), as new Board members, and thank outgoing members John "maddog" Hall (Linux International), Geoff Halprin (The SysAdmin Group), and Marshall Kirk McKusick (author and consultant), for their service. Come to the USENIX Annual Meeting with the Membership, which will be held Thursday June 1, 2006, at Annual Tech. Get an update on USENIX and SAGE activities and events, tell us how we're doing, and give us feedback on the conference. 3. Security '06 Registration Now Open The 15th USENIX Security Symposium will be held July 31-August 4 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The 2-day training program includes: * Measuring Security, taught by Dan Geer * TCP/IP Weapons School, taught by Richard Bejtlich * RFID Security & Privacy, taught by Kevin Fu, Adam Stubblefield, and Ari Juels * Introduction to Practical Cryptography, taught by Steven M. Bellovin And more... The technical conference will kick off on Wednesday, August 2, with a keynote address by former Senior White House Advisor and best-selling author Richard A. Clarke. LISA '06 Paper Submissions Deadline May 23, 2006 The submissions deadline for the 20th Large Installation System Administration Conference (LISA '06) is quickly approaching. Submit an abstract to the refereed paper track by May 23, 2006. Submit a a proposal for an invited talk by June 1, 2006. LISA '06 will be a held December 3-8, 2006, in Washington, D.C. For more information and submission guidelines, see http://www.usenix.org/lisa06/cfpmej 5. Attention All Sysadmins: 2006 SAGE Sysadmin Salary Survey Is Underway! The survey covers the entire range of administrators, including sysadmins, network administrators, security administrators, and database administrators, and managers of those positions. All experience levels from entry-level through multiple decades are included, and both currently ewmployed and unemployed are asked to respond. Last year's survey fielded over 3,000 participants from dozens of countries. Your input will make the 2006 survey an even greater success!
