I am not sure, how it is in Ubuntu, but in the real Debian the group is
lpadmin. Take a look at that file (to check it is so) and then run
sudo adduser <yourlogin> lpadmin

As a rule of thumb, the more qualifiers there are before the name
of a country, the more corrupt the rulers. A country called The
