Guys, I know this is easy, but I can never remember how to do it and I can't find it in the bash man page. (I'm sure its in there...) How do you set the value of a shell variable from the command line? Basically I want to write a shell script which askes, "Are you sure you want to proceed? [N/y] " and then acts according to user input at the command line. Thanks. Steve. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
