We wouldn't be able to host the videos on the BLU servers, but I see no reason why we couldn't host them on something like YouTube. We could also make DVD-quality images available on the Installfest server so people attending our Installfests could burn their own DVDs. I started videotaping our meetings back in 2000, with the idea of having the raw footage available for when the Linux video editing tools finally mature. I kept it up for a couple years until one of our speakers asked us not to record his presentation. After that I never really got back into it. Also, it didn't occur to me until later to ask for signed releases from the presenters, so the footage would be unusable anyway until I tracked down whoever I needed releases from for each meeting. As long as we can satisfy the liability issues, I see no reason not to try this. Josh sounded willing to allow it for his talk in January. -- John Abreau / Executive Director, Boston Linux & Unix abreauj at AIM / jabr at jabber.blu.org / abreauj at YAHOO / zusa_it_mgr at SKYPE Email jabr at blu.org / WWW http://www.abreau.net / PGP-Key-ID 0xD5C7B5D9 PGP-Key-Fingerprint 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
