Quoting Rajiv Aaron Manglani <rajiv at alum.mit.edu>: >> That sounds very complicated. One would think that someone would >> have written tools to accomplish these tasks. I can't be the first >> person to think about this problem but not want an infinitely increasing >> number of MDn RAID arrays. > > someone did: > > http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/zfs_learning_center.jsp Um, except this is a new filesystem (not what I'm looking for), and ZFS doesn't do "RAID5".. So it's not solving the stated problem, either. So, saying "someone did" is really pushing the truth, because this isn't a script to manage Linux LVM+RAID devices/arrays. But thank you for playing. -derek -- Derek Atkins, SB '93 MIT EE, SM '95 MIT Media Laboratory Member, MIT Student Information Processing Board (SIPB) URL: http://web.mit.edu/warlord/ PP-ASEL-IA N1NWH warlord at MIT.EDU PGP key available -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
