Don't ever bother trying to set up xhost stuff. ssh can do everything for you, more securely than X's native protocols, and it should "just work". Of course, sometimes it doesn't, in which case you should check your server's /etc/ssh/sshd_config and make sure there's a line in there like: X11Forwarding yes Matt -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
