Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2007 17:23:04 -0500 From: Derek Atkins <warlord at MIT.EDU> According to http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Inspiron+1100+Series the maximum memory is 1GB, 2 slots of 512MB, and you can get those chips for $57.59 each. So my $200 estimate was way way over the cost. (the Dell Inspiron 1100 series takes DDR PC2700). It's *well* worth it -- go all the way to 1 GB. The laptop will probably be much more responsive overall. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
