When I go to the "Insert % before" option on the "files" menu, it says, "Choose a dv or SMIL % file to insert". I gather an SMIL file is the format Kino uses to save % its work. I don't have a problem with creating my titles in another % program, but how do I get them into Kino? -SLK-07Mar 9> Laura, Kino can make titles. After you've opened your video, press the FX tab along the right side. Then press Video Filter, and from the drop-down menu -- which says "No Change" by default -- pick Titler. Then you can choose a font and point size, alignment (left, center, right, or tab), and colors for the characters and background. On the left, you have to choose either "Overwrite" to superpose the title on the clip you've chosen on the storyboard, or "Create" to include the title before the clip. Finally, select the time-length in Frames (about 25/sec), and press Render. It works fairly well. However, it crashes without warning if you try to write too much in too large a font. When it crashes, you have to start over. So be sure to save your work before you start making the title. -- Steve -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
