[OT - non-Linux] TurboTax question

My daughter has yet to complete her taxes, but she does have Turbo tax.
She called me with a question the other night.
There is a feature, "import investments". To import investments from a
financial institution, does this require a user id/account number and
password, or does it require the SSN. I assume this is simply to get
the 1099 information.

The reason for the question is that she will be calling me later as
apparently she does not have her broker's tax statement. I can download
it from the brokerage, but I was wondering exactly what Turbo Tax needs
to access online 1099 information.
