I could wipe the whole thing, but I imagine that might take an hour or two, which translates into an additional evening spent working on this. As I understand it, the JTAG cable will give the thing a serial console, which would allow me to do a single-user boot and then fix the problem by hand. I suppose another alternative would be to put the gentoo tarball back onto the drive while it's in the usb enclosure, then stick it back in the kurobox. I'm not sure if that would be enough, though, and any further configuration of gentoo on the drive would probably fail since the kurobox is a ppc and my other systems are all x86. - -- John Abreau IT Manager Zuken USA 238 Littleton Rd., Suite 100 Westford, MA 01886 T: 978-392-1777 F: 978-692-4725 M: 978-764-8934 E: John.Abreau at zuken.com W: www.zuken.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGNkxdiof7R0HCNyURAiXHAJ99LxgT+BgIuKn1R7XQ2LlPyvBEMACglD78 6xbjny+K+pVrepjz9uIR7JM= =oKzU -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
