Your choices are basically either Tyan or Supermicro in the hobbyist/DIY categories. I have 3 Tyan dual-CPU machines, all Opteron based, and they're fine once set up. The initial set up required a time investment to get the kernel and drivers tweaked, but once each machine was running, it has been mostly trouble-free. If you didn't want to build it yourself, Sun has some interesting looking dual CPU machines. -b -- doubt is an uncomfortable position, but certainty is a ridiculous one. <voltaire> -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
