I took a chance and used the ADD/Remove feature in Ubuntu to upgrade to Feisty Fawn. I wish that I would not have done this as I don't time to spare and have run into problems. My system hangs on boot. If I do a ctrl-alt delete it will boot into the new system however I can not access the extra partitions on the hard drives. I normally accessed my data drive on /dev/hdc. This is the set up in fstab. However it now accesses a blank drive. When I do sudo fdisk -l I receive the following: Disk /dev/sda: 60.0 GB, 60022480896 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 7297 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 2481 19928601 c W95 FAT32 (LBA) /dev/sda2 2482 6128 29294527+ 83 Linux /dev/sda3 6129 6250 979965 5 Extended /dev/sda4 6251 7297 8410027+ 83 Linux /dev/sda5 6129 6250 979933+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris Disk /dev/sdb: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 1 3187 25599546 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sdb2 3188 6226 24410767+ 83 Linux /dev/sdb3 6227 8658 19535040 83 Linux /dev/sdb4 8659 9266 4883760 5 Extended /dev/sdb5 8659 9266 4883728+ 82 Linux swap / Solar Question: Ubuntu boots the system without reporting all the booting behavior. How do I go about enabling this. If i look at the /var/log it seems the system is hangin on NVidia but when I do the CTRL_ALT_DELETE the sytem boots Nvidia and I can run tux penguin.
