I upgraded to Ubuntu feisty The upgrade changes the /etc/fstab I can change the fstab to the proper /dev/sd** location but I don't understand why the UUID doesn't work here is the fstab that Ubuntu set up for my data partition /jdata # /dev/hdc3 UUID=9843a215-3ec3-43bd-9233-427971875b58 /jdata ext3 defaults 0 2 Here is the UUID for /jdata using $ sudo vol_id -u /dev/sdb3 9843a215-3ec3-43bd-9233-427971875b58 I don't understand when I connect to /jdata it is a blank directory I know that I can edit fstab to /dev/sdb3 /jdata and it will probably work, but I was wondering why the UUID doesn't work. Just curious jay -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
