for the last couple of months in my free time i've been reading about bittorrent and trying to learn php so i could make a bittorrent indexer mod for punbb. well, today i finally have most of the bugs worked out and posted the code to the punbb forum asking for a beta tester or two. here's a screen shot: http://newmag.org/downloadsVisitor/forumpics/2007/puntracker1beta.png i've learned so much playing around with this it's amazing! and being able to share with others is pretty cool. now to a real programmer this isn't anything too great but to a beginner it's freakin' heaven! (as a side note, on the pic you'll notice the last two torrent stats are the same, that's because the etree.org tracker's scrape is screwy. i told them on their forum.) there's still a ton of features to add. at my current rate i should be finished when i'm 110. so... a while back, i think josh (the kernel hacker) mentioned starting a website to share libre / open source media. did that ever happen? if somebody else hasn't already done it, do you think people would be interested? -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
