Here's what I see: - no mention of component names. - no recent technologies I would suspect that they are shipping new-but-old, that is, components that have never previously been used but have sat on a warehouse shelf for two or more years. Have you tried to buy a new 13 GB disk lately? You might manage it - as a CF microdrive. 2.5" laptop drives start at 40GB, and there's no sense in buying a 3.5" drive less than 80 GB -- especially when the current $100 drive size is 400-500GB from a major name. On the upside, all of these components are probably fully supported by Linux... And the desktop prices are decent. If you want to buy a spare box, it's not bad. -dsr- -- .. .----. -- .-. . .- -.. .. -. --. -.-- --- ..- .-. -- .- .. .-.. .-.-.- .-- .... --- . .-.. ... . .. ... ..--.. http://tao.merseine.nu/~dsr/eula.html is hereby incorporated by reference. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
