I'm looking to price out 500 GB external USB drives for backing up standalone systems. If the drives have fireware, etc connections, it'll simply be a nice touch. I plan to get Retrospect for software, so I only care about drive reliability and company support should _anything_ go wrong with the drive. I've had excellent mechanical success with both Seagate and Western Digital drives, and want to get list consensus as to which company has the better drive reliability record. I plan to stay away from LaCie and Maxtor. Thanks. Scott -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
