Linux-compatible USB camcorder?

We came across this product, a cheap handheld camcorder with a USB 
connector:

I'm hoping that I would be able to plug this into a Linux machine and 
pull recorded videos off it as if it were a hard drive, but I'd like 
more than hope before I drop a hundred bucks on it.  Can anyone confirm 
or refute that?
