I finally managed to set up the back end, and I can use mythweb, which is a usable interface, to schedule recordings. On my desktop, I managed to run the front end once or twice (not to actually watch anything, but I did some configuring), but now it crashes X whenever I start it. This happens even if I do something like "mythtv --reset" or "mythtv --help" that shouldn't be opening a window. The desktop machine is running ubuntu feisty, with the onboard video (lspci says: 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 [Radeon Xpress 200G Series]). xorg.conf is using the ati driver. I have installed mythfrontend on the laptop (also ubuntu feisty), and it runs, but when I try to watch either live tv or a recording, I just get static. Even on stations where "mplayer dvb:" will play a the show fine. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix either the tv viewing on the laptop or the X crash on the desktop? -- Laura (mailto:lconrad-O0WJhd4tT3hg9hUCZPvPmw at public.gmane.org , http://www.laymusic.org/ ) (617) 661-8097 fax: (501) 641-5011 233 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
