I'm running into bandwidth issues on my company's ftp server, and it occurred to me that companies like Apple use an outside service like akamai.com to host their downloads. Our needs will be much smaller than Apple's, and akamai would probabyl be overkill for our needs. We have a small customer base, and downloads would probably be fairly infrequent, and wouldn't use much bandwidth per month; but when they occur, they need to be fast. What experiences have other folks here had with oursourcing customer file downloads? Any recommendations? Thanks. -- John Abreau / Executive Director, Boston Linux & Unix IM: [hidden email] / abreauj@AIM / abreauj@Yahoo / zusa_it_mgr@Skype Email [hidden email] / WWW http://www.abreau.net / PGP-Key-ID 0xD5C7B5D9 PGP-Key-Fingerprint 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
