Re: Ubuntu Gutsy good?

I put Gutsy on my laptop sometime in September, and the results 
haven't encouraged me to upgrade the desktop yet. 

I use the laptop mostly for web browsing, and on Feisty was able to 
leave it up for weeks with Firefox getting more and more tabs, but no 
significant performance degradation.  On Gutsy, I quite regularly find 
that the system is paging itself to death and has become unusably 
slow. 

This morning, "top" told me the memory hogging culprit was "udev", if 
that enlightens anyone.
