I'm looking for a new desktop machine for my wife and I to use. While we use Windows as little as possible, we do have a few things that won't run anywhere else, so we need something that we can dual-boot into Windows[*]. The most CPU-intensive stuff we're likely to be doing is running OpenOffice and editing YouTube-length videos of our kids. The less we have to spend, the better. My employer has a corporate-discount deal with Dell, but for the machines cheap enough for me to consider buying, the member discount is only about 3%. What models should I be looking at? What should I avoid? [*]I would rather have Windows running inside a Xen or QEMU virtual machine within Linux, but I think that would cost too much. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
