symlinks and file visibility on Linux

 Hi folks,

I would like to know if it is possible to have the following setup.

in a directory, create two sub-directories, foo, and bar.
put text files in foo, called text1.txt and text2.txt
put text files in bar called text3.txt and text4.txt

create a symlink somehow so that the contents of foo show up in bar, but
the contents of bar do not show up in foo.

thus when I do an 'ls' of 'foo' I see :
text1.txt
text2.txt

but when I do an 'ls' of 'bar' I see :
text1.txt
text2.txt
text3.txt
text4.txt

I'm sure its possible, but I cant figure out how. Maybe I need more
caffeine ?

thanks

Richard
