It is not as hard as it sounds, you just get to see what it is doing. I just installed 7.10 on my DV8000 (non -AMD64) and it went in fine except for the wireless card. There is a new 'restricted drivers manager in 7.10 that installs the drivers for you, disables them and then lets you enable them after... Kinda weird but I can see why they did it.. The wireless card took a reboot once I could switch it on, but since then it has been perfect . does the laptop have the NVIDIA graphics card or the Radeon ?
