my attempt at a quiet PC...

Well, the hardware was delivered, assembled and powered on... and my new
PC is more noisy than my old one... :(

oh well... I went the full Zalman route, (yup payed $350 for the freeken
case... quite a beaut I must say.) But I didn't go the fanless route. I
got the Zalman big heat sinks for the CPU and video card. The fans which
drive the air flow through the case seem to be the big noise makers. The
fancy LED ones. Anyway, I'll work on the watercooled solution later. But
I must say, the system is blazingly fast. (I packed it with 8gigs of
800MHz memory and I cant wait to fire up my VMWare application.)

I guess what I'm trying to pass on is that putting together a quite PC
is not easy....

Cheers. Steve.
