sensors applet

 I've got the urge to start monitoring the temperature of my system. I 
noticed theres a gnome sensor applet. Is this something which is 
provided with gnome? I'm having a hard time getting it to work. Does 
fedora core provide easy access to the temperatures? Do I need to so a 
special build of the kernel?
