Apache - using mounted filesystem - directory not found

 Greeting,
    I wish to change the Document root on my Apache config to a mounted filesystem. When I start and stop the httpd - I receive a message directory not found.

<VirtualHost 18.X.X.xxx>
     DocumentRoot /data/web/abc
     ServerName abc.mit.edu
</VirtualHost>

Starting httpd: Warning: DocumentRoot [/data/web/abc] does not exist

The root partition is /dev/sda1 - raid 1 second partition /dev/sdb1 raid 5. I am mounting sdb1 on /data in the fstab. The directory is there. I am missing something but not sure what it is? Any ideas.

Thanks,

Stephen
