ndiswrapper works natively, and does not have the bug.  I think the 
bug is due to reorganization, due to Jarod's comments.  There is 
really no need to go back to i386, as this will only prolong the time 
until the driver becomes unstable (the problem still exists).  So, now 
I doubt I will try to go from x86_64 -> i386.  I may try to do it in 
another instance in the future though.  Only time will tell :-)

Pretty cool, but I can't see an application I would have for it 
personally.  Interesting though...
