I'd say that's your problem... you definitely had 2 different versions installed in some capacity or other. Most Linux distros package up their own package, and do so differently than the way Mozilla packages it (or doesn't, depending on how you choose to download/install). But since your distro packages it for you, why did you upgrade from Mozilla? In general, this is the Wrong Thing(tm). Unless you really want to maintain security fixes yourself (which for most users would just be silly, though there are reason to do it), you should really stick with your distro's package. -- Derek D.
