I got my XO yesterday, and spent several hours today playing with it, including
trying to get WPA working...
>From the Getting Connected webpage at OLPC,
at www.laptop.org/en/laptop/start/connecting.shtml:
"Currently, we do not support WPA-enabled WiFi access points;
we anticipate adding WPA support in early 2008."
The wiki there (wiki.laptop.org/go/WPA_Manual_Setting.html)
points to a small shell script to work around this by manually adding
information about a WPA AP to a config file. I tried it, couldn't get connected,
dropped my AP back to WEP... and then realized I had MAC filtering enabled too.
D'oh! More testing to do...
