I think that when Caldera bought the Unix division from The Santa Cruz Operation, that Caldera believed that they received the Unix IP. Either they were sold a bill of goods by Santa Cruz or they were simply misinformed. I also think that when they engaged in their case against IBM, they may have been under the misguided impression that IBM would simply pay them off. For a short while, they were able to bully some Linux users. I do think that their attorneys used a lot of smoke and mirrors, but the slander charge they leveled at Novell indicates that they actually believed that they owned the Unix copyrights. -- Jerry Feldman <[hidden email]> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
