Does anyone know if you can turn off referrals for winbindd?

 I know you can do this for LDAP, but I couldn't find anything on whether 
or not you can do it for winbindd. My problem is that winbindd is trying 
to contact a system for a referral, but the it doesn't have access to 
it, so it continuously outputs complaints to the messages file. I would 
like to turn it off, if at all possible.
