My account is eligible for a new phone this month. My old Treo650, while quite beaten up, is still very serviceable. I would love to have a Linux based smartphone, but they don't exist. I've looked at a couple of Palm OS phones, such as the Treo 680. The only additional feature I would like is built-in GPS. Builtin WiFi is a plus. Unfortunately, only the Treo 680 has PalmOS. The rest have Windows Mobile. Do nothing and continue to use my existing 650. Samsung BlackJack Palm Treo 680 BlackBerry Pearl BlackBerry Curve 8310 AT&T Tilt The BlackBerry Curve 8310 and AT&T Tilt have builtin GPS receivers. Some questions on Windows Mobile sync on Linux AFAIK, there is no problem syncing with Synce on Linux. But, one think I like about jpilot is the use of the PalmOS memo pad, but I can live with Kontact or Evolution. One reason for upgrading is that I will be doing more traveling this spring. -- -- Jerry Feldman <[hidden email]> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
