I've been talking to a friend who hates everything about Vista on her
new laptop, including its incompatibility with important software she
uses. She called Microsoft and was told should couldn't downgrade to XP
because she didn't have Vista Business. I'd never heard of such a thing
until now.
Since she has licensed XP install media, I can't think of anything
preventing her from doing a clean install ("downgrade rights"
notwithstanding), but Microsoft has evidently put the fear of God into
her about it.
