2008/2/6, Nicholas Bodley <[hidden email]>: > Also interested in The TypeMatrix kbds. with switchable maps; their keys > are not staggered between rows. > <http://www.typematrix.com/dvorak/> These things look amazing. I wish a had the cash floating around for this. It'll be the first keyboard I'll buy. > Present machine (emachines T6532) came with a kbd. having the [emachines] > logo and lots of extra keys, and I decided to swap keys for Dvorak. It was pretty nice to type on. However I ran into the same issues as you, and traded it with a family member for a "silicon harbour" keyboard. This one isn't half bad, and has a nice push back (your "snap action"). > who looks at his Dvorak layout all the time Yeah, thankfully I never properly learned how to type on qwerty, so converting was just about 3 weeks of intense pain and telling myself NOT to look down. Some of the first words I learned were "I switched to dvorak" <reply> "<explicitive> you". All good fun though. I wish windows made it easier to switch between layouts.. I found it very buggy when switching back and forth. Linux and OS X were a breeze though. (I left my friends mac laptop on Dvorak by accident.. that was interesting. Got a call at 10pm "Hey the keys aren't working properly, did you leave it in dvorak....") -- Samuel 'Shardz' Baldwin Shardz's Igloo: shardz.homelinux.net // Down at the moment Registered GNU/Linux User #410639 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
