The BLU server suffered what appears to be a massive spam attack through a botnet hat appears to be mainly in Germany. Mail wasn't moving at all, and this morning (Monday, Feb 11) I shut off port 25 and deleted large sets of spam from the mail queue, and now we're waiting for the mail queue to drain to a reasonably small size before turning port 25 back on. Odds are this message will also take a long time to go through. -- John Abreau / Executive Director, Boston Linux & Unix IM: [hidden email] / abreauj@AIM / abreauj@Yahoo / zusa_it_mgr@Skype Email [hidden email] / WWW http://www.abreau.net / PGP-Key-ID 0xD5C7B5D9 PGP-Key-Fingerprint 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
