Packing the dryer full tends to screw with its mind (as Don Levey said a couple posts up). On a different sensing note, my toaster has a (largely unreliable) toastiness sensor. My fiancee made the good point that it's much easier for me to learn the toaster than the toaster to learn my toastiness preference for whatever different size, shape, and style of bread I put in. So maybe sensing dryers are a big lose.
