Just my $.02. Assuming you don't want to buy a new dryer :-) There is a bit of energy consumption when the dryer starts. If I were going to be anal about saving energy. I would first ring out all the clothes to remove as much moisture as possible, and combine both the colors and the whites into one dryer load. You would save the cost of starting the dryer from start. But, I think the savings is going to be minimal.
