for my laptop i have a netgear WG511v2 wireless card, which once worked under redhat FC6 (iirc) but which i have not yet been able to get working under ubuntu 7.10. ndiswrapper-common and ndiswrapper-utils-19 are installed. from netgear i downloaded the WG511v2 driver and installed it to .wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/NETGEAR/WG511v2 (right next to Internet Explorer). the directory contains: bout.rtf ConnectToInternet.WAV dnsapi.dll Mrv8000x.dll MSVCP60.DLL Multilanguage.tmp networks.rtf odSupp_M.dll OEM/ OEM.tmp settings.rtf statistics.rtf unload.tmp WG511v2.exe* WG511v2_OEM.tmp WlanDll.dll i assumed that i needed to execute WG511v2.exe under wine, but when i tried it, i got a bunch of error messages listing missing files: err:module:import_dll Library CRYPTUI.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\odSupp_M.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library odSupp_M.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\Mrv8000x.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library Mrv8000x.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\WlanDll.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\WlanDll.dll") not found err:module:import_dll Library WlanDll.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\WG511v2.exe") not found err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\NETGEAR\\WG511v2\\WG511v2.exe" failed, status c0000135 where do i go from here? any suggestions would be welcome. tia, dan j. daniel moylan 84 harvard ave brookline, ma 02446-6202 617-232-2360 (tel) 810-454-1823 (fax) [hidden email] www.moylan.info [death to html bloat!] -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
