Kristian Erik Hermansen wrote: > Vmware server sucks in comparison to virtualbox... I had quite a time getting VMware Server to work under Linux. Windows install works great, but my windows installation has severe registry rot or something. Tried it out under Fedora Core 6. Doesn't match the kernel version - try to recompile something but it doesn't work. Try under Fedora 8, same problem. To get it to work, you have to install the VMware server .rpm. Then you have to install the "any-any" patch from somebody in the Czech republic I think. Then you have to go into the patch and untar it and patch three files, re-tar then run the script. This is all pretty awkward and gives me pause. I guess you would have better results under RHEL or Centos, but I would want to run those as virtual servers. -r -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
