Ever ran across a Mini PCI SATA controller card? (Google and Froogle 
can't find one.) Sounds like one of these boards could be the basis of 
an open NAS device. 

I suppose a Mini PCI SATA card would carry a premium price, and probably 
end up being a wash compared to using the more expensive Alix.1c with a 
commodity PCI SATA controller. Though I'm not sure what advantage the 
larger MiniITX Alix.1c provides over other MiniITX boards, many of which 
are cheaper.
