There is a way to fixmbr from any linux install cd, it's actually part of the grub install process but alas, i've found about 1/50 times running grub doesn't really do it or do it correctly. ATM I don't have grub sitting in front of me but if you do a quick google search for fix mbr grub you will get a whole host of useful information. If someone does in fact have it in front of them, i'd be grateful for posting it.
