So far, what I've seen of the 8.04 installer is less than stellar... I 
tried installing the amd64 variant as a kvm guest and found that grub 
likes to segfault...

md5sum checks out on the downloaded iso, so it looks to me like someone 
sorta forgot to do a little bit of QA work on the amd64 installer...
