When: May 21, 2008 7:00PM (6:30 for Q&A) Topic: Linux Soup XI: High-End Audio on Linux, Continued Moderator: Christoph Doerbeck Location: MIT Building E51 Room 335 Christoph continues where he left off in March. In the last few years Linux has made great strides forward in the provision of professional applications for the creation, manipulation, and recording of audio and music. It is now possible to create a professional level Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) using only Free Software. For a number of years audio applications for Red Hat Linux and Fedora Core have been packaged by Fernando Lopez-Lezcano in the Planet CCRMA repository; recently a Fedora Extras SIG has been created for audio. For much more information, and Parking please refer to http://www.blu.org/cgi-bin/calendar/2008-mar There is a parking lot adjacent to the E-51 at 2 Amherst St. Note: The after-meeting meeting will be at The Cambridge Brewery. -- Jerry Feldman <[hidden email]> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846 _______________________________________________ Announce mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/announce _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
