Other subject: Comcast bandwidth and Linksys W54G router

 I just moved to a place and setup with Comcast 
broadband. 
I tested the download and upload speed. I found one 
with/ without Linksys router has big different. 
For direct connect to cable modem, I got almost 14M/3M 
download/upload speed. With Linksys router, I only got 
10M/1M download/upload speed. 
Have any experience with Comcast bandwidth and Linksys 
54G router with same situation? I brought the router 
only 3 months.
